Hi my name is Heather Mitchell and I am a registered Creative Art therapist working here in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. I have a background in art / craft/ making and have a deep respect and passion for creativity and enjoy making as part of my own self care practice.
Since graduating I have worked at the Women’s Centre in Christchurch where I worked alongside a wide range of challenges including relationship issues, family of origin dynamics, grief, anxiety and depression, major life transitions, and suffering / trauma.
The sessions I offer are relational, collaborative, client led and process based. They involve creativity to explore, invoke, nudge, and play with our human experiences. I work with my clients towards integration, acceptance, and or expansion.

Post Grad Dip in Teaching and Learning, Christchurch Collage of Education.
Bachelor in Craft Design, ARA.

Full professional registration with Australia, New Zealand and Asia Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA)
